Pet-Friendly Villas in Montenegro: Villa Beta Guide

Not every luxury villa welcomes pets, and we understand why that matters to a lot of travellers — leaving a dog behind isn't really an option for some families. At Cape Montenegro, Villa Beta is our dedicated pet-friendly villa: small pets under 10kg are welcome for a €55 per night fee, with a private garden and pool included. Here's everything you need to know before you book.

Montenegro doesn't quarantine pets on arrival as long as your paperwork is in order, and the country has become an increasingly popular destination for travellers who'd rather not board their dog at home. Between the coastline, the mild climate outside peak summer heat, and villa stays that offer real outdoor space, it's a more pet-friendly trip than many people expect going in.

Villa Beta is the only villa in the Cape Montenegro complex that accepts pets. It's also, fittingly, our cosiest villa — 450 m², 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, with a minimalist interior and lush greenery around the private pool and terrace. The garden setting was part of what made it the natural choice for pet-friendly stays: there's genuine outdoor space to let a dog settle in, not just a paved terrace.

To keep the policy simple and fair to every guest, Villa Beta's pet policy is:

• Pet fee: €55 per day
• Weight limit: up to 10 kg
• Villa: Villa Beta only — pets can't be accommodated in Alpha, Gamma, Delta or Epsilon

The private garden around Villa Beta's pool and terrace gives your pet room to move without leaving the villa. It's fenced from neighbouring properties, so there's no shared boundary to manage, and the pool area is easy to supervise from the terrace or living space. Daily housekeeping is included as standard, the same as every villa, so you're not managing extra cleaning around a pet on top of your own stay.

Montenegro doesn't require quarantine if your pet's paperwork is complete, but there are a few things to arrange before you travel:

• ISO microchip, implanted before any vaccinations
• Valid rabies vaccination, typically required at least 3–4 weeks before travel (specific timing depends on your pet's origin country)
• EU pet passport if travelling from an EU country, or an international veterinary health certificate if travelling from outside the EU

A rabies antibody titer test may or may not be required depending on where you're travelling from — this has recently become easier for EU-origin pets, so it's worth checking current rules for your specific route

Because pet travel regulations can change and vary by country of origin, we'd always recommend confirming the latest requirements with an official source or your vet a few months before travel, rather than relying on general guidance alone.

Booking Villa Beta works the same way as any other villa at Cape Montenegro — check availability, confirm your dates, and pay a 40% deposit to secure the booking (the remaining 60% is due from 30 days before check-in).
